Iceland is an island 103.000 km2 in the middle of the north atlantic ocean. The capital Reykjavik has a population of 113.000. The island is covered with 11.900 km2 glaciers.

Iceland is unique due to it’s geothermal activities, like volcanos, hot springs, which supplies the country with electricity and hot water for heating.

The Faroe Islands consists of 18 small islands in the north atlantic ocean, right in between Iceland and Norway.

The total area of the islands is 1.399 km2. It’s populated by a total of 43.500 people. The capital Tórshavn is on the south part of the biggest island Streymoy. Faroe Islands has been a selfgoverning part of Denmark since 1948.

Shetland islands consists of more than 100 islands, situated just north of Britain in the north-atlantic ocean. The total area is around 1.468 km2. The county town Lerwick has a population of 8.000, with a total of 22.500 people on all Shetland islands. The islands lie 650 km south of the arctic circle.
