Qeqertarsuatsiaat

The name Qeqertarsuatsiaat meaning ‘the great islands’ was founded and colonized in 1754 by Anders Olsen as a trading station.

The settlement has been populated by the eskimos for several hundred years before the colonization by the europeans.

Today around 275 people live in Qeqertarsuatsiaat.
