The world famous Ilulissat Ice-fjord is just few minutes walk from the city. The ice-fjord has one of the most productive and fastest moving glaciers in the world. Moving at a amazing speed of 20-30 meter per day and braking off into to the fjord.
Qasigiannguit is a town in the beautiful Disko Bay area, founded in 1734 as a trading post, originally named Christianshåb. The population of the town has been declining the last 20 years to 1.164 inhabitants.
Saqqaq meaning the sunny side - small settlement in west Greenland located on the southern part of Nuussuaq Peninsula, 100 km north of the town of Ilulissat. Saqqaq is the only settlement in the beautiful and huge Vaigat Strait and has 173 inhabitants.
Iceberg is frozen freshwater originating from a glacier and then broken off into the sea. Icebergs comes in all forms and sizes and colors of whites and blue. Some are even black due to soil deposits from the glacier area.
