Welcome to Kangerlussuaq
Situated in central west Greenland. Kangerlussuaq is mainly an international airport. Originally an American military air-base servicing early warning radar installations on the ice-cap until 1992.
Kangerlussuaq is the main gateway to Greenland. From here daily flight go to all major towns in Greenland. There are no roads connecting the airport in Kangerlussuaq to other towns.
Kangerlussuaq offers a perfect place for hiking, mountain-biking and kayaking in the summertime. Tour operators offer tours to the ice-cap on daily bases most of the year, also muskox safari and guided tours around Kangerlussuaq area.
